A rare opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Financial Controller to join a well-established manufacturing and export business operating across the Australasian market. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will see you partnering closely with senior leadership while taking ownership of the finance function in a hands-on, operational environment.

The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional finance role. You will act as a true business partner to the GM, helping drive financial performance, improve systems and reporting, and provide commercial insight across the operation.
The business has a strong export focus, making experience across FX management, forecasting and cashflow planning essential. You will also play a key role in cost analysis, inventory controls, manufacturing reporting and process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day finance function across accounting, reporting and controls
Manage cashflow forecasting and foreign exchange monitoring and analysis
Prepare monthly management reports, forecasts and annual budgets
Partner with operational leadership to improve business performance and profitability
Oversee inventory, WIP and manufacturing cost accounting
Analyse product costing, raw material pricing and margin performance
Ensure accurate and timely statutory and audit reporting
Review and improve internal controls, systems and reporting processes
Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and banking partners
Payroll, administration and broader office management functions where required
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes
What We're Looking For
Proven experience within a manufacturing, exporting or product-based environment
Strong understanding of FX exposure, cashflow management and forecasting
Experience with inventory, WIP and cost accounting
Commercially astute with the ability to partner with operational leadership
Hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally
Strong systems capability and confidence improving processes and reporting
CA, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
