Quality Lead - NZ

Well established in New Zealand and only getting stronger – this is your opportunity to lead and inspire the NZ team and report through to Australia.  All while feeling proud of the quality of the products produced.  We are looking for a strong Quality Lead of the NZ team who is well versed with BRC and YUM standards.

With increased products being manufactured in the New Zealand plant, we are needing someone not only to manage the quality of the existing runs, but also play a part in the up and coming plans for increased lines and production efficiencies.  We are looking for a true partnership between quality and production with the focus being on producing top quality products efficiently and safely.

Working with a team of 3 and reporting through to Australia for advanced technical support and the General Manager in NZ.  This is an opportunity to really lead, inspire and mentor up and coming Quality team members for future succession and additional growth.

The key areas we are looking at will include:

  • Providing Food Safety and Quality coaching and leadership for the New Zealand business
  • Managing the NZ Quality team (3)
  • Contribute to overall management and continuous improvement
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and procedures in the areas of Food Safety, GMP, Quality Systems and overall Production Quality
  • Provide technical support to the NZ team
  • Ensuring ongoing employee commitment, compliance and engagement in all areas of Food Safety, product quality and regulatory requirements
  • Co-ordinate internal and external audits, quality systems, procedures and documentation to ensure appropriate and effective corrective actions are sought, implemented and reviewed
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety initiatives, policies, strategies and legal requirements are upheld
  • Facilitate and develop Food Safety training programs
  • Overall management of the Quality Department and building strong relationships across the wider team

To be successful within this role you will need:

  • 5 years food manufacturing experience
  • Have good people coaching and business partnering skills
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be confident forming effective relationships and networks across all levels of an organisation
  • Hold a Bachelor of Food Technology/Science or similar science-based qualification
  • Prior experience in BRC and / YUM standards is essential
  • Passionate about Quality and Food Safety
  • Strong background and a thorough understanding of the challenges of Quality Assurance & Food Safety
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, written and verbal communication
